The Ada alternative with prices you can see

Aftersales pairs an AI Agent that takes actions with a shared inbox and real-time Insights. Ada is an enterprise AI agent platform sold through sales. Here is how they compare on pricing, voice, helpdesk and setup, with plans on the pricing page.

Ada vs Aftersales: what is the short answer?

Ada is an enterprise AI agent platform sold through a demo and quote, built to automate voice, messaging and email and hand the rest to the helpdesk you already run. Aftersales is an AI customer service platform with published prices, a free plan, an AI Agent billed at $0.99 per resolution and a shared inbox for your human team in the same product.

  • Choose Ada if you are a large brand with a busy contact center, want AI on the phone as well as chat and email, and plan to run a vendor-supported enterprise rollout.
  • Choose Aftersales if you want to see the price before a sales call, start on a free plan or 14-day trial, pay only when a conversation is resolved, and keep AI and people in one inbox.
  • Keep your helpdesk and run Aftersales Agent on its own inside Zendesk, Salesforce Service Cloud or Freshdesk if moving your team is not on the table.

Is Ada still independent in 2026?

Yes, as far as Ada's own site shows. As of October 2026 Ada describes itself on its About page as a Canadian company started in 2016, backed by more than $200 million from investors including Accel, Bessemer Venture Partners, Spark Capital, FirstMark and Tiger Global. We found no announcement of an acquisition, rename or shutdown on ada.cx.

The product is still moving. Ada's blog announced Ada Computer on September 24, 2026, which gives its AI agent API, sandboxed code and MCP tools to take actions in business systems, and image understanding on October 2, 2026, so the agent can read screenshots and photos customers send. Ada now positions itself around "agentic customer experience" and lists customers such as Square, YETI, monday.com, Pinterest, Grab and GoFundMe.

So this is not a page about escaping a fading product. Ada is a serious option for the brands it targets. The real question is whether you are one of them.

Why do teams look for an Ada alternative?

Teams that compare alternatives usually like what Ada's AI can do. They hesitate over how it is bought and what sits around it.

  • No public pricing. Ada's pricing page is a demo request with no plans or rates. You cannot model cost until you are in a sales process.
  • You still need a helpdesk. Ada's platform page lists handoff and contact center integrations such as Zendesk, Salesforce, Freshworks, ServiceNow, Genesys, Amazon Connect, Twilio Flex and Aircall. Your human team keeps working, and paying, in a separate tool.
  • Built for enterprise programs. Ada highlights 550+ enterprise AI agents deployed and features such as Coaching, Testing and Simulation, and a Performance Center. Smaller and mid-market teams often want to set up an agent themselves and go live in days.
  • Two contracts to manage. One for the AI agent and one for helpdesk seats means two renewals, two sets of reports and two places to look when something goes wrong.

What should you look for in an Ada alternative?

Look for an agent that acts, not only answers, and a billing unit you can predict.

  1. Actions with limits. Can the agent verify an order, create a replacement or issue a refund, inside spend limits you set?
  2. Procedures your support leads can write. Ada's Playbooks set a fair bar: multi-step procedures that use live data. You should be able to change behavior without an engineer.
  3. A billable unit you agree with. Ask what counts as a resolution, and what you pay when the AI hands off.
  4. Handoff with context. The person who picks up should see the conversation, the data the agent looked up and what it already tried.
  5. Quality checks on every conversation, not a sample.
  6. Security that matches your buyers: a GDPR DPA and, for health data, a BAA on the Enterprise plan.

Our guide to measuring resolution rate explains how to check that "resolved" means fixed, not abandoned.

How does Aftersales compare with Ada?

The biggest differences are how you buy, whether a helpdesk is included and how far each goes on voice.

When is Ada the better choice?

Ada is the better pick for large brands where voice matters and a dedicated AI program is already funded. Be honest about which of these describes you.

  • AI on the phone. Ada deploys its AI agent on voice as well as messaging and email. Aftersales does not list an AI voice agent; its phone features are for your human team.
  • Your contact center stack. If you run Genesys, Amazon Connect, Twilio Flex, ServiceNow or Aircall, Ada lists integrations with them. Aftersales Agent runs on its own only inside Zendesk, Salesforce Service Cloud or Freshdesk; other systems connect through the Aftersales API or webhooks.
  • More messaging surfaces for the AI. Ada lists Messenger, Instagram, in-app and custom channels for its agent.
  • Enterprise tuning tools. Coaching applied to future conversations, simulation before changes go live and a long enterprise track record suit teams with a dedicated AI operations function.
  • Specific certifications. Ada's trust center lists PCI DSS and SOC 3. If procurement requires those, check Ada's documentation; Aftersales offers a GDPR DPA, US hosting and HIPAA support with a signed BAA on the Enterprise plan.
  • You already have a great helpdesk and only want the AI layer, with a vendor team guiding rollout.

Where is Aftersales the better fit than Ada?

Aftersales fits teams that want an AI agent and a helpdesk in one product, at a price they can see before talking to anyone.

  • You pay only for resolutions. Agent costs $0.99 per resolution on every plan, counted once per conversation however many questions it contained. Conversations Agent can't help with are free, and Agent never needs a seat.
  • One place for AI and people. Inbox handles email, chat, WhatsApp, SMS, phone, social DMs and Slack Connect. When Agent hands off, the rep sees the conversation, the data Agent looked up and what it already tried.
  • Ecommerce actions ready to use. Agent verifies Shopify orders, creates replacements and issues Stripe refunds within spend limits you set. See Aftersales for ecommerce.
  • Help for human reps. Copilot drafts replies that cite their sources, summarizes and translates in 31 languages. Teams using it on every conversation see a 2.4x faster median reply.
  • Quality on every conversation. Insights runs Monitors across all conversations and reports cost per conversation in one unit. Helio Energy's quality scores rose 14 points after Monitors replaced sampling.

Results: Agent reaches a median 71% resolution after 90 days, and Northwind Outdoors cut cost per conversation by 41%.

See the price before the demo. Plans start free, and Agent costs $0.99 only when it resolves a conversation. Compare plans.

Is Aftersales cheaper than Ada?

It depends on your Ada quote, but you can work out the break-even before you sign. Because Ada does not publish rates, compare your quoted price per conversation or per resolution against Aftersales' list prices.

Example assumptions: 15,000 conversations a month, Agent resolves 60% of them, 12 human reps, list prices, annual billing.

  • Agent on its own inside your existing Zendesk, Salesforce Service Cloud or Freshdesk: 9,000 resolutions x $0.99 = $8,910 a month. The 6,000 conversations Agent hands to your team cost nothing on Aftersales. A minimum monthly commitment applies.
  • Full Aftersales platform: 12 Growth seats x $69 = $828, plus $8,910 in resolutions, totals $9,738 a month, and that includes the helpdesk your reps work in. Copilot for all 12 reps adds 12 x $29 = $348.

The break-even: $8,910 over 15,000 conversations is about $0.59 per handled conversation. In general, Aftersales' AI cost per handled conversation is $0.99 x your resolution rate. If your Ada quote works out lower than that on the same volume, Ada's AI fee is lower; if higher, Aftersales is. When you compare against the full platform, add your separate helpdesk seats to the Ada side.

How do you switch from Ada to Aftersales?

Run Aftersales next to Ada on a slice of traffic first, then move procedures across one at a time.

  1. List your top intents and Playbooks. Write down the ten conversation types that make up most of your volume and the steps Ada follows for each.
  2. Rewrite them as Aftersales procedures. Describe each one in plain language, or import an existing macro, and map each step to a connector with explicit permissions.
  3. Set guardrails. Spend and value limits, escalation on sentiment, keywords, customer tier or legal language, brand voice and banned phrases.
  4. Connect your systems. Shopify, Stripe and Salesforce connect directly; other systems connect through the Aftersales API or webhooks. Confirm specific connectors on a call.
  5. Move your knowledge. Bring help center articles into Knowledge so Agent, Copilot and your help center use one source.
  6. Decide where people work. Keep your helpdesk and run Agent on its own inside Zendesk, Salesforce Service Cloud or Freshdesk, or move the team to Inbox. On Growth and Scale, Aftersales runs the migration with you.
  7. Test on live traffic. Use the 14-day trial to route a share of chat and email to Agent and grade the transcripts.
  8. Keep voice where it is, if needed. If Ada handles AI phone calls for you, you can keep it for voice while moving chat and email.
  9. Cut over by channel once resolution and CSAT match or beat your baseline, and check your Ada contract term before you give notice.
