The Decagon alternative with prices you can see

Aftersales pairs an AI Agent that takes actions with a shared inbox and real-time Insights. Decagon is an enterprise AI agent platform sold through sales. Here is how they compare on pricing, voice, helpdesk and setup. Plans are on the pricing page.

Decagon vs Aftersales: what is the short answer?

Decagon is an enterprise AI agent platform sold through sales, with quoted pricing and no helpdesk of its own. Aftersales is an AI customer service platform with published prices, a free plan, an AI Agent billed at $0.99 per resolution and a shared inbox for the human team in the same product.

  • Choose Decagon if you run a large, voice-heavy contact center, want AI on inbound and outbound calls, and have budget for a vendor-led enterprise deployment.
  • Choose Aftersales if you want to start this week without a sales cycle, see the price before you sign, pay only when a conversation is resolved, and keep AI and people in one inbox.
  • Keep your helpdesk and add Aftersales Agent inside Zendesk, Salesforce Service Cloud or Freshdesk if replacing the tool your team works in is not on the table.

Is Decagon still independent in 2026?

Yes. As of October 2026 Decagon is an independent company and has not been acquired, renamed or shut down. It announced a $250 million Series D at a $4.5 billion post-money valuation, led by Coatue and Index Ventures, on January 27, 2026 (Decagon Series D announcement).

It is shipping quickly. Between September and October 2026 its blog announced Generative Analytics, Campaign Composer for outbound outreach, Voice 3 with its own Chord speech model, Agent Modules for journeys such as onboarding, collections and retention, a Personal Agent Gateway for handling customers' own AI agents, and a partnership with OpenAI on its B2B marketplace. Decagon's home page lists customers including Chime, Duolingo, Deutsche Telekom, Square and American Airlines.

So this is not a page about leaving a fading product. Decagon is a strong option for the companies it targets. The question is whether you are one of them.

Why do teams look for a Decagon alternative?

Most teams that compare alternatives are not unhappy with Decagon's AI. They are put off by how it is bought and what it leaves out.

  • No public pricing. Decagon's site has no price list; every page routes to "Get a demo" or "Contact Sales". You cannot model cost until you are in a sales process.
  • Per-conversation billing by default. Decagon offers per-conversation pricing or a higher per-resolution rate, and says "the vast majority" of its customers choose per conversation. On that model you pay for conversations the AI escalates as well as those it resolves.
  • You still need a helpdesk. Decagon's integrations page lists Zendesk, Salesforce, Intercom and Kustomer for handoffs. Your human team keeps working, and paying, in a separate tool.
  • Built for enterprise scale. Smaller and mid-market teams often want to set an agent up themselves, test it on real conversations and go live in days, not run an enterprise deployment.

What should you look for in a Decagon alternative?

Look for an AI agent that can act, not just answer, and a pricing unit you can predict.

  1. Actions with limits. Can the agent issue a refund, verify an order or create a replacement, with spend limits you control?
  2. Plain-language procedures. Decagon's AOPs set a high bar here. Your support leads, not engineers, should be able to write and change how the agent behaves.
  3. A billable unit you agree with. Per resolution, per outcome or per conversation. Ask what you pay when the AI hands off.
  4. Handoff with context. The person who picks up should see the conversation, the data the agent looked up and what it already tried.
  5. Quality monitoring on every conversation, not a sample.
  6. Security that matches your buyers: SOC 2, GDPR, SSO and, for regulated data, a BAA and data residency.

Our guide to measuring resolution rate explains how to check that a vendor's "resolved" means fixed, not abandoned.

How does Aftersales compare with Decagon?

The biggest differences are how you buy, what you pay for, and whether the human helpdesk is part of the product.

When is Decagon the better choice?

Decagon is the better pick for large enterprises where voice is the main channel. Be honest with yourself about which of these describes you.

  • AI on the phone. Decagon runs AI voice agents on inbound and outbound calls with its own speech model. Aftersales does not list an AI voice agent; its phone features are for your human team.
  • Very high volume with a deployment team. If you handle millions of contacts and want vendor engineers to build and tune the agent with you, Decagon is set up for that.
  • Beyond support. Agent Modules and Campaign Composer cover onboarding, collections, payment collection, retention and outbound campaigns. Aftersales focuses on customer service.
  • More languages on voice. Decagon lists 70+ languages for voice; Aftersales Agent covers 31.
  • Your stack. If you hand off to Intercom or Kustomer, or run telephony on Amazon Connect or RingCentral, Decagon lists those integrations. Aftersales Agent runs on its own only inside Zendesk, Salesforce Service Cloud or Freshdesk.
  • Specific certifications. Decagon's security page lists ISO 27001 and PCI. If your procurement requires those, check Decagon's trust center; Aftersales offers a GDPR DPA, US hosting and HIPAA support with a signed BAA on the Enterprise plan.

Where is Aftersales the better fit than Decagon?

Aftersales fits teams that want an AI agent and a helpdesk in one product, at a price they can see before talking to anyone.

  • You pay only for resolutions. Agent costs $0.99 per resolution on every plan, counted once per conversation however many questions it contained. Conversations Agent can't help with are free.
  • One place for AI and people. Inbox handles email, chat, WhatsApp, SMS, phone and social. When Agent hands off, the rep sees the conversation, the data Agent looked up and what it already tried.
  • Ecommerce actions out of the box. Agent verifies Shopify orders, creates replacements and issues Stripe refunds within spend limits you set. See Aftersales for ecommerce.
  • Help for human reps. Copilot drafts replies that cite their sources, summarizes and translates in 31 languages. Teams using it on every conversation see a 2.4x faster median reply.
  • Quality on every conversation. Insights runs Monitors across all conversations and reports cost per conversation in one unit. Helio Energy's quality scores rose 14 points after Monitors replaced sampling.

Results: Aftersales Agent reaches a median 71% resolution after 90 days, and Northwind Outdoors cut cost per conversation by 41%.

See the price before the demo. Plans start free, and Agent costs $0.99 only when it resolves a conversation. Compare plans.

Is Aftersales cheaper than Decagon?

It depends on your Decagon quote, but you can work out the break-even yourself. Because Decagon does not publish rates, the fair comparison is your quoted per-conversation price against Aftersales' effective cost per conversation.

Example assumptions: 20,000 conversations a month, Agent resolves 60% of them, 15 human reps, list prices, annual billing.

  • Agent on its own inside your existing Zendesk, Salesforce Service Cloud or Freshdesk: 12,000 resolutions x $0.99 = $11,880 a month. The 8,000 conversations Agent hands to your team cost nothing on Aftersales. A minimum monthly commitment applies.
  • Full Aftersales platform: 15 Growth seats x $69 = $1,035, plus $11,880 in resolutions, totals $12,915 a month, and that includes the helpdesk your reps work in. Copilot for all 15 reps adds 15 x $29 = $435.

The break-even: $11,880 spread over 20,000 conversations is about $0.59 per conversation. In general, Aftersales' AI cost per handled conversation is $0.99 x your resolution rate. If a per-conversation quote from Decagon is below that number, Decagon's AI fee is lower; above it, Aftersales is. Remember to add your separate helpdesk seats to the Decagon side if you are comparing against the full platform.

How do you switch from Decagon to Aftersales?

Start by running Aftersales next to Decagon on a slice of traffic, then move procedures across one at a time.

  1. Export your AOPs and top intents. List the ten conversation types that make up most of your volume and the procedure for each.
  2. Rewrite them as Aftersales procedures. Describe each one in plain language, or import an existing macro, and map each step to a connector with explicit permissions.
  3. Set guardrails. Spend and value limits, escalation on sentiment, keywords, customer tier or legal language, brand voice and banned phrases.
  4. Connect your systems. Shopify, Stripe and Salesforce connect directly; other systems connect through the Aftersales API or webhooks. Confirm specific connectors on a call.
  5. Decide where people work. Keep your helpdesk and run Agent on its own inside Zendesk, Salesforce Service Cloud or Freshdesk, or move the team to Inbox. On Growth and Scale, Aftersales runs the migration with you.
  6. Test on live traffic. Use the 14-day trial to route a share of chat and email to Agent and grade the transcripts.
  7. Keep voice where it is, if needed. If Decagon handles AI phone calls, you can keep it for voice while moving chat and email.
  8. Cut over by channel once resolution and CSAT match or beat your baseline, and check your Decagon contract term before you give notice.
