Checked September 2026. Confirm current prices on each vendor's site.
How did we compare Shopify support apps?
We scored each tool on the same six criteria and checked every price on the vendor's own pricing page in September 2026. Where a vendor does not publish prices, we describe the pricing model instead of guessing.
- AI resolution. Does the AI finish the task (order lookup, refund, address change) or only answer questions?
- Ecommerce context. Order data and actions inside the conversation.
- Channels. Email, chat, WhatsApp, SMS, social and phone in one record.
- Pricing model. Seats, ticket tiers, per-resolution or per-conversation fees, and minimums.
- Setup and migration. Time to value and whether AI can run alongside your current helpdesk.
- Security. SOC 2, GDPR, SSO and data residency.
For this list we focused on what a Shopify store needs most: order lookups, cancellations, address changes, refunds and replacements handled without an agent opening Shopify admin.
We are Aftersales, so we put our own product first. We have tried to be fair about where each alternative is the better pick, and the tool cards say what to watch out for, including for us.
What are the 9 best Shopify customer support apps?
Each app below includes who it fits and its main trade-off.
1. Aftersales: best for Shopify stores that want AI to resolve orders and a helpdesk in one app
Aftersales connects to Shopify so Agent can verify an order, run order actions and send replacements, and issue refunds through Stripe, all under spend guardrails and escalation rules you write in plain language.
Human agents work in the same Inbox across email, chat, WhatsApp, SMS and social, with Copilot drafting replies. The Free plan includes the first 50 Agent resolutions, so a small store can test it without paying.
- Best for
- Shopify brands that want AI resolution, not just a chatbot
- Pricing
- Free plan (1 seat). Starter $24, Growth $69, Scale $109 per seat/month billed annually (20% more monthly). Agent $0.99 per resolution, counted once per conversation; conversations Agent can't help with are free
- Strengths
- Shopify order verification, order actions and replacements; Stripe refunds; escalation on sentiment, keywords, tier or legal language; 31 languages
- Watch out for
- A younger company (founded in London in 2024), so the app ecosystem is smaller than older suites. Confirm niche integrations on a call

2. Gorgias: best for Shopify brands that want a mature ecommerce helpdesk
Gorgias is a helpdesk built around Shopify. Order data sits next to each ticket, and agents can edit, refund or cancel orders from the sidebar. Its AI Agent handles common questions and some order actions.
Pricing is tiered by ticket volume rather than seats, which suits teams with many part-time agents but can climb quickly in peak season. See our Gorgias pricing breakdown.
- Best for
- Shopify and DTC brands with steady ticket volume
- Pricing
- Tiered by monthly tickets: Starter $10 (50 tickets), Basic $50 (300), Pro $300 (2,000), Advanced $750 (5,000) per month billed annually, plus overage per ticket. AI Agent $0.90 per automated interaction on annual contracts ($1.00 monthly), and each one also counts as a helpdesk ticket
- Strengths
- Deep Shopify sidebar and order actions, large ecommerce app ecosystem, unlimited users on every plan
- Watch out for
- AI interactions count toward the ticket allowance, so automation raises your ticket bill as well as your AI bill
3. Richpanel: best for DTC brands that want cheap per-conversation AI
Richpanel is an ecommerce helpdesk with a self-service portal and AI agents across email, chat, social, SMS and WhatsApp. It prices seats and AI separately, and says replies are never metered on top of a seat.
It also sells a returns and exchanges product, which is useful if you want support and returns from one vendor.
- Best for
- DTC brands that want AI and a self-service portal from one vendor
- Pricing
- $99 per seat/month; AI agents $0.20 per conversation; returns and exchanges from $99/month
- Strengths
- Low published AI price per conversation, self-service portal and QA included, returns add-on
- Watch out for
- Per-seat price is higher than most entry plans, and a per-conversation AI fee is charged whether or not the conversation resolves
4. Re:amaze: best for small ecommerce teams on a budget
Re:amaze is a helpdesk and live chat tool popular with smaller online stores. It covers email, chat, social and SMS, with order details from common store platforms.
Each per-user plan includes a small number of AI resolutions per user, then charges per extra resolution.
- Best for
- Small and mid-size stores that want chat and helpdesk together
- Pricing
- Basic $29, Pro $49, Plus $69 per team member/month (10% off annually), or Starter $59/month flat for unlimited users up to 500 responded conversations. Extra AI resolutions $0.85 each
- Strengths
- Affordable, simple to set up, flat-rate option for small teams
- Watch out for
- Included AI resolutions are small (5 to 20 per user per month), so AI volume turns into usage fees
5. Tidio: best for small stores that want live chat and a chatbot
Tidio combines live chat, a helpdesk and the Lyro AI agent. It is quick to add to a store and has a free plan.
Lyro is sold by conversation volume, and human conversations are billed separately. See Tidio pricing.
- Best for
- Small stores starting with chat
- Pricing
- Free plan; Starter $24.17, Growth from $49.17, Plus from $300 per month. Lyro AI from $32.50/month for 50 conversations
- Strengths
- Fast setup, free plan, chat-first experience
- Watch out for
- Pricing is conversation-based and tiered, so costs jump as volume grows; fewer deep order actions than ecommerce-first helpdesks
6. Shopify Inbox: best for new stores that need free chat
Shopify Inbox is Shopify's own free chat app. It now includes an AI sales associate that answers questions from your catalog, inventory and policies.
It is a pre-sale chat tool first. It is not a full helpdesk for email, returns or refunds.
- Best for
- New or small Shopify stores
- Pricing
- Free for Shopify merchants
- Strengths
- Free, native to Shopify, AI answers from catalog and policies
- Watch out for
- No full ticketing, routing or multi-channel helpdesk; not built for post-purchase actions at scale
7. Yuma AI: best for ecommerce brands that want outcome-based AI inside their helpdesk
Yuma is an ecommerce AI agent that works inside helpdesks such as Gorgias, Zendesk, Kustomer, Re:amaze, Freshdesk and Front, with Shopify actions for order status, refunds and cancellations.
Yuma says you pay only when it fully resolves a ticket. It does not publish rates.
- Best for
- Brands that want outcome-based AI without switching helpdesks
- Pricing
- Outcome-based, quote only; 30-day free trial
- Strengths
- Works inside many helpdesks, Shopify actions, guided rollout
- Watch out for
- No public prices, and you keep paying for a separate helpdesk
8. Siena AI: best for brands that want an AI layer on top of their helpdesk
Siena is an AI agent that runs on top of an existing helpdesk such as Gorgias, Zendesk, Kustomer or Dixa. With Shopify connected it can cancel orders, process refunds, send replacements and update addresses.
Pricing combines a platform fee with a per-ticket automation charge.
- Best for
- Mid-market and larger brands keeping their current helpdesk
- Pricing
- $750/month platform fee plus $0.90 per automated ticket
- Strengths
- Runs inside Gorgias, Zendesk, Kustomer and Dixa; Shopify order actions
- Watch out for
- The platform fee makes it expensive for low volumes, and you still pay for a separate helpdesk
9. eDesk: best for multichannel sellers on Amazon, eBay and Walmart
eDesk pulls marketplace messages and order data into one inbox. If you sell on Amazon, eBay, Walmart or Mirakl as well as Shopify or BigCommerce, it handles marketplace rules that general helpdesks often miss.
Plans cap the number of connected marketplaces or stores, so check the tier against your channel count.
- Best for
- Marketplace sellers with several storefronts
- Pricing
- Essential $39, Growth $89, Professional $119 per user/month billed annually (Enterprise custom). AI Agent $0.99 per outcome
- Strengths
- Native Amazon, eBay, Walmart and Mirakl support alongside Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento and WooCommerce
- Watch out for
- Store limits per plan (1, 5 or 10), and it is less suited to brands that sell only on their own site
